About us
It was mid-winter 1962 and my Dad, determined to get a look at a lakefront property for sale on the northwest end of Carson Lake, donned some snowshoes and trekked several kilometers across the frozen lake from the highway to take a look. There was no water to be seen and there was no visible beach but he had a feeling that this was the place. It was September 1963 when I first visited our cottage on Carson Lake - I was 5 days old.

A few years later, my Dad severed a piece of land from our original cottage property and built another small cottage. He sold this shortly after completion to a young couple from Ottawa who became not only our cottage neighbour but family friends. My parents sold our family cottage on Carson Lake in 1974 and we moved to British Columbia only to return the following year. We sadly missed our cottage on the lake and yearned to spend summers, once again, at the cottage. Leave it to my Dad to find another beautiful property on Carson Lake and to build another family cottage.

Time passed and all of our lives changed as my siblings and I moved on. My parents sold again - we didn't have a cottage on Carson Lake anymore but we had a lifetime of great memories. It was those memories that prompted me to dream about giving my own children what my parents gave to us growing up - a cottage. In steps our old family friend and cottage neighbour, now widowed, and wanting someone to buy the cottage - not just anyone though but someone who would keep the property as a cottage and keep her memories of her husband and their life together on Carson Lake alive. We bought the cottage and promised her exactly that. It was almost like it was meant to be.

To say the least, Carson Lake holds a special place in my heart and it is with great pleasure that we are able to share our beautiful Carson Lake cottage with our guests. We wish you a great stay at the cottage and hope you are able to take away with you many cherished memories of family and fun - I am almost certain you will.

Have a great holiday! Mike, Sandra, Curtis and Cameron Goldthorp
